SoHo Events Spring Styled Shoot!

Well it’s time to reveal the big surprise from a few weeks ago!  I had so much fun styling a shoot working with some great new vendors in Wilmington, NC and the Crystal Coast!  I truly appreciate everyone’s help and excitement in being a part of my shoot and I think it turned out perfectly!

The setting was at the beautiful Octagon House in Swansboro, NC down on the river.  The rustic pines and old southern oak’s made for the perfect backdrop to this spring inspired mint & silver romantic wedding!

We were featured on Trendy Bride today so make sure you take a look there for all of the beautiful images!  Here are a few of my favorite shots!!

Who doesn’t love a silver sequin linen!?  I die!

I love the mint linen with the pink tulips with white roses and lush white hydrangea.  The pops of purple just add that depth that really made the florals pop!  It was so much fun arranging everything, it turned out wonderful!  Everything came together so beautifully, I want to thank everyone that helped pull this together-

Michelle Butler of Keepsake Memories Photography  for the beautiful pictures; Crystal Coast Tent and Event Rentals for providing all of the rentals; Cloth Connection  for the fabulous silver sequin linen; Coastal Petals Event Floral Design  for providing the beautiful flowers; Caroline from Heirloom for Hire  for providing the silver tray, champagne bucket, and cake stands; Sarah & Angela from Mint 102 Event Branding  for providing the lovely invitation set and paper products; Charlene & Pascal from South ‘n France  for providing the delicious Bon Bon’s as the guest favors; and Gunilla from American Dream Cakes for providing the beautiful mint wedding cake and yummy assorted cupcakes!

Be sure to check out the Trendy Bride  blog for the full post!  Thank you again to everyone who had a part in this, it was such fun bringing this beautiful vision to life!  I can’t wait to do the next shoot!

Until then

And Then There Were Lights – Candles!

Candles are the perfect way to add romance to any event!  At every wedding I do, I always urge my brides to add as many candles as possible to add a golden flicker to any space!  You can use candles as centerpieces, on your tables, at your ceremony, around your cake and even outside in the trees!  Candles are so versatile and can be used to match any theme or decor whether its the color of the actual candle, or the candle holder and how it is used in the venue!

Here are a few of my favorite ways to use candles!  Enjoy!

I love the pops of Tiffany blue in this monochromatic tablescape!  Adds a flirty, feminine touch to this already elegantly beautiful event!

Who doesn’t love a tall taper to add height to a table?!  Plus the white tapers dripping in crystals with the plush florals is simply stunning!

Here’s another fun way to use tapers that is a bit more rustic and casual.  Such a fun look in the clear wine bottles to add a fun touch to a dinner table!

I love the use of candle holders at different heights in this picture!  Plus the glow from behind the flowers make the whole room glow a beautiful golden white!

Finally, I am obsessed with the suspended votives hanging above the tables.  I think this is such a fun new way to play with candles taking the term “lighting” more figuratively!  It gives the event a more whimsical look, one I can’t wait to use in one of my next events!!!

I have two more of my favorite types of event lighting to share with you this week!  Make sure you come back to see and let me know which is your favorite!

One trend I’m currently drooling over these days is stripes!!  Thick, bold stripes can make such a statement to any event and really make your tables pop!  Match a bold stripe with bright colorful flowers and it’s sure to be a party!  Linen is such an important element in events and I love bold prints and patterns.  These types of linen can add such a pop of color, texture, and depth to a table and are a decoration of their own!  You can never go wrong with stripes!!

What do you think?!

Nothing says nautical like navy stripes and a pop of fuchsia!!

Pair classic black & white stripes (an ode to Coco Chanel of course) with gold flatware and low lush arrangements and you instantly have an elegant affair!

striped linen 3

For a romantic feel use a linen that has vertical stripes running across the width of the table versus horizontal stripes running the length of the table.  This will pull your guests together and make them feel closer and more intimate!  I love this blush imperial stripe!

I know it’s not technically a stripe and these day’s chevron has its own category to itself, but I saw this setting and I fell in love.  This sea blue with the neutral burlap poly linen is perfect for a casual dinner party and a beautiful rehearsal dinner!  Love my chevron!

My big news is so close to being ready to share!!  Hopefully it will be your Friday treat!!  I can’t wait to show you so be sure to keep an eye out for some prettyness coming your way!!
